Rosacea

Rosacea

Is there a way to treat rosacea without loading chemical products on your skin? You betcha.  The cause of rosacea flare-ups is mostly unknown making it a point of frustration for many people.  There are two main concerns to address: inflammation and irritation.

As far as natural ingredients, below are a few to keep an eye out for that will both reduce the look of redness, but also calm the irritation and promote healing.  Keep an eye out for these when scanning labels:

  • chamomile
  • manuka honey
  • colloidal oatmeal (this is just a water and oats mixture)
  • cucumber
  • grape seed oil
  • green tea

Products to Try:
Fit Glow Redness Rescue Cream (RRC)
True Botanicals Calm collection - this is a collection targeted specifically at rosacea

At-home DIY Treatment:
Green tea - make a cup of green tea; place in fridge until completely cool; soak a washcloth in it and then place on your face.  (I love this one - it's also a refreshing fix if you're feeling haggard after a night out!)
Oats - grind up 1/2 cup of plain ground oats and mix with 1/4 cup of water to create a paste; apply to affected areas; leave for 20 minutes; gently rinse off with cool water and pat dry.

(Remember to err on the side of caution and always spot test a small patch of skin when trying something new!)
