Hi.

Welcome to my site: a digital guide to taking your first step (or topping up!) on healthy skincare and beauty guidance . Hope you have a nice stay!

Bronzer Swap

Bronzer Swap

I'm not one for a full Kim K contour (as much as I like to experiment ... my sister can attest...).  I do, however, love a sun-kissed glow.  The look that I've spent all day outside in a warm, summer sunshine but managed not to burn and instead got this perfect glow where you can't tell if I've been kissed by the sun or if I'm literally just beaming from the inside.  That's the one I love.

I was a die-hard Laura Mercier powder bronzer fan but having made the swap, I've (so far) been preferential to cream bronzers.  However, I'll recommend both powder and cream below and you can try what works for you!

Bronzers should be applied on the prominent places on your face where the sun would actually hit - think cheekbones, forehead/hairline, bridge of the nose.  The reason I like creams is you can build up from something very subtle to a contoured, sculpted look, depending on your style.

Bronzer to try:
Vapour's Solar Translucent Bronzer Stick - I like that it comes in a stick for ease of use; very subtle in color but can be built up; Vapour has a 5 for $15 sample purchase on their website, so you can order a few shades and see what you like.  I wish everyone had that offering - it's so good!  There is a video guide if you need application help on their page.
RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer - This one has a little more color than the Vapour off the mark (I use the lightest Vapour one, as a comparison), but similarly can be used as a subtle hint or built up.  There is also a video guide on application on this page.  I tend to use my fingers to apply, but you can also use a blending brush or a mix of the two!
Zao Organic Bronzer - full transparency, I have not yet tried this, but it's on the list.  I keep reading good things, so wanted to include as it's a powder and some people prefer to use powders.

Honorable Mention:
Because it's not actually a bronzer, but a powder highlighter:  I've been really enjoying Kosas Longitude Zero.  It's a blusher/highlighter compact.  The blush is really pigmented so you only need a TINY bit on your brush - be warned.  I've mostly been using the highlighter though and I'm really pleased with it - it's gives a lovely glow (reminiscent of Benefit's High Beam).
