Hi.

Welcome to my site: a digital guide to taking your first step (or topping up!) on healthy skincare and beauty guidance . Hope you have a nice stay!

Hair Volume For Days

Hair Volume For Days

Oh. Em. Gee. My hair looooves this shampoo.  The recipe comes from a book that you will likely hear me refer to a lot...and highly recommend:  Skin Cleanse by S.W. Basics founder Adina Grigore.

I have very fine hair that's mostly straight, so seeking volume is like the holy grail for me. I'm always after it.  Adina touts this shampoo as a game-changer and the only reason she doesn't sell it, is it lacks preservatives to give it a shelf life.  With all of this in mind, I decided to go with her recommended 2x week wash.

I did this for 1 month, but noticed results immediately.  By results, I mean volume..and lots of it.  Volume I'd never seen before! Volume for days.  I used a bit of Prim Botanicals Hair Oil on my ends and some dry shampoo here and there, but otherwise went styling product free - didn't need anything else!

Without further ado:

The Recipe
1/3 Cup Castile Soap (I used Dr. Bronner's)
1/4 Cup Coconut Milk (you can find this at your grocery store)
4 Tablespoons Dry Clay (I used Kaolin Clay)
(note: this makes a hefty portion, so either cut in half or share, but either way try and use it all as it won't keep)
